Acoustic Guitar Money: How To Make Good Money Playing Acoustic Guitar

A lot of people play guitar and many of them wonder how they can make good money with it. Well, there are several ways: recording, writing songs, playing in a band, or even selling it on Ebay! But actually, one of the best, easiest ways to turn your guitar into a good source of income is through live solo or duo acoustic guitar shows. And you don’t even have to be able to sing to do it. Literally, if you can strum the chords to some popular songs, you can start making money with your guitar. Sound interesting? Read on!

There’s actually a trend happening right now where bars, restaurants, wedding and party planners, etc., are choosing live acoustic music over bands, DJ’s, etc for entertainment. Why? Mainly because it’s a lot cheaper to hire a one or two-person acoustic act, and since there’s not much equipment, they’re in and out quickly. And, it’s just easier to deal with. All you have to do is be able to strum the chords to some popular songs for 3-4 hours, have someone with you that can sing well, and you can make good money, usually at least $100 a night or $25 an hour. Some gigs will pay $300-400 for a two person acoustic act, for the same amount of time or less—and that gives you something $35-50 an hour EACH. That’s a lot cheaper than most bands or DJ’s at $800 ,1000, or more. But it’s still good money per person as an acoustic player. And if you can sing, you can do the whole thing by yourself and keep all the money. What do I know? I do it every week and I can tell you for a fact: it works, and it’s not difficult to get started if you know a few tricks, techniques, and secrets like exactly what songs to play, where to find the good gigs, how to handle booking, what equipment you need, etc.

The good news is there’s an online book for that! It’s called Acoustic Guitar Money—a manual that covers all the tricks, techniques, and secrets to quickly establishing a good solo or duo acoustic guitar show and regular income. There’s even tips on how to get free guitar lessons online, an easy script or format you can use to run your show, vocal tips, what to say to get a gig 95% of the time, and a lot more. I put this online book together to help musicians, artists, and guitar players support themselves, and do it well. There’s even some specific information on how to use playing live acoustic guitar and singing to regularly train yourself for competitions like American Idol, X Factor, America’s Got Talent, etc. Tons of good information to quickly take you from playing in your bedroom to making good money, maybe even to America’s biggest stages! We also offer coaching if you want to supercharge your success and get there quicker—just let us know. So check out Acoustic Guitar Money—I think you’ll be surprised.

Nonverbal What?: A Key To Winning American Idol, X Factor, Other Competitions?

Ever wonder why people that don’t seem to sing or play guitar all that well, end up doing VERY well, winning competitions, selling records, make more money from their music, etc? People say they have ‘that something’, that ‘X Factor’ maybe. Well, if you knew what that ‘x factor’ was, would you use it to help you succeed? Of course you would. What if you have talent, can sing and play guitar well, AND you figured out how to use this ‘X Factor’ Do you think you might have an advantage over other musicians, other American Idol, X Factor, America’s Got Talent, or other contestants? Would that give you your best chance of winning? Most likely, yes. And the good news is…you don’t have to be born with this factor—it’s something you can learn.

Yes, this is sometimes referred to as a secret, but I’m going to share it with you. What I’m talking about is nonverbal communication, which researchers say makes up between 60-70% of total perceived communication. James Borg, famous researcher, says that 93% of human communication comes from body language and other nonverbal areas, and about 7% from the words themselves. And what is one of the main things going on with music, with winning competitions, etc—communication. Sometimes a singer or guitar player seems more ‘interesting’ because they move their bodies in a certain way, have facial expressions, gestures, or it’s ‘the way they said those words’, etc. All of that together is a lot of what people call the ‘x factor’, or that special something that helps their performance ‘get to you’, more so than other people that don’t utilize those techniques.

And nonverbal communication is in all kinds of music, and good songwriting—like the beat or rhythm of a song or way that someone sings that ‘grabs’ you. But again, as a musician, artist, guitar player, etc., you can learn to use these techniques. The last American Idol winner Phillip Phillips is a good example. He plays acoustic guitar well and sings well. But if you watch his performances and auditions, you see that they are all full of body movements, facial expressions, rhythm, moving his feet to the beat, etc. Taylor Hicks is another one—good musician, but also good at ‘acting out the song’ or delivering it with ‘feeling’ or that ‘x factor’.

As I said, these performance and audition techniques and secrets are learnable, and there are specific ways of using them. And one of the best ways to learn them is through this online book Acoustic Guitar Money, that not only teaches you how to use live acoustic guitar shows to train yourself to use these nonverbal techniques, but also how to make a good living with your music while you train for competitions, tours, etc.

Why solo acoustic guitar shows? Because playing acoustic guitar and singing regularly forces you to put all the music skills together with performance skills in an easy to practice, fun, low-key environment. And when the right people see that you’ve got it together musically and as a solo performer, opportunities will start finding you, and the money you make will just keep going up. And when YOU have this advantage and other contestants don’t, you’re much more likely to win something like American Idol. Read Phillip Phillip’s biography and you’ll see that he used live music and acoustic guitar shows to help prepare himself.

At Acoustic Guitar Money, we are dedicated to helping the independent guitar player and other musicians learn some of the best ways to support themselves and reach their music goals as fast as possible. You are no different than Phillip, Scotty, Taylor or any other successful person. All you have to do is learn a few things, practice, and soon you’ll be ready try out and win American Idol, X Factor, etc.

You CAN do this. Go for it! Contact us with any questions you may have. We also offer a coaching program to help you get going, train properly, and make money fast—just let us know. We’re musicians, too, and we’re here to help.

How Did Phillip Phillips Win American Idol?

Hmmm…how did Phillip Phillips win American Idol? How did he get through the try outs? Can I do that, too somehow? What tricks and techniques can give me the advantage? Yes, you can do that, and as for tricks and techniques he used, it might be a good idea to take a look at one key thing that he did: playing acoustic guitar. Let’s start with the audition. If you watch Phillip’s audition for American Idol, you see that when he put on that acoustic guitar and sang, THAT is when the judges really got into the performance, and then put him through to Hollywood. Was the vocal performance his key? Probably. But did the acoustic guitar give him an edge. Absolutely. That’s when Jennifer Lopez noticed the rhythm, like how he started moving his feet and along with the guitar strums, etc.

Then, during the whole competition, and at the end, most of Phillip’s best moments, when he got the most response from the audience was when he used his acoustic guitar. And playing guitar wasn’t something new to Phillip—he’d been playing since about age 14, and after a while, formed a band where he was playing acoustic guitar and singing as much as possible. This live acoustic guitar and singing experience no doubt made it much easier to audition and eventually win American Idol. Why? Because 1) the guitar often helps ‘amplify’ expression greatly as it adds to the overall vocal performance, 2) that live stage experience, playing in bars and restaurants, churches, etc., getting comfortable in front of a crowd gives you an amazing dose of confidence. And to think Phillip used to never let anyone hear him sing! He was kind of shy about the whole thing!

Can you see a pattern? Does this sound like you? Phillip was shy, too, but as his bio states, built his confidence up through live acoustic guitar shows. And lots of pro musicians, people that have ‘made it’ will tell you the same thing: that live performance experience is a must if you want to win or ‘make it’—it strengthens you in so many ways. Yes, there are tricks and techniques, even ‘secrets’ to auditioning well and winning competitions like American Idol, but the good news here is you don’t have go and try to search for it. There is now a book called Acoustic Guitar Money that will teach you EXACTLY how to get that good live acoustic guitar experience and train yourself by playing acoustic guitar and singing, and how to make some good regular income at the same time, plus bonuses like a Quick Start Guide, and Vocal Tips.

At Acoustic Guitar Money, we are dedicated to helping the independent guitar player and other musicians learn some of the best ways to support themselves and reach their music goals as fast as possible. You are no different than Phillip. You have the same opportunity to change your life. All you have to do is learn a few things, practice, and soon you’ll be living your dreams! You CAN do this.
